Jack in the Box Tacos

ozone and turbo
I've always heard that the tacos at Jack in the Box don't have meat in them, that they're some sort of soy something or other.

Can anyone confirm this?

I really like them a lot.

They are totally meat-really really low grade meat with soy filler. But yes, they are meat. :(

There is not enough "D:" in the world.

They're meat. Not much, mind you, but still not vegetarian. That would be awesome if they made a meatless soy version, though, because I used to love those things. Maybe I should get to the kitchen and start experimenting...

They sell a mock-meat taco at Sprouts that tastes EXACTLY like the Jack version. I don't remember the brand. They come in a box in the frozen section.

never eaten at jack in the box, but soy crumbles by morningstar farms are vegan and make a damn good substitute for ground beef.

Seconded. I use this all the time and my boyfriend, nor any of his friends can tell the difference.

Precisely. When you think about it, ground beef doesn't have a strong taste. Why not upgrade? :-)

Yeah, I have heard that rumor about the patties at McD's before, too. Don't buy it, babe. It tends to just be people trying to say something bad about the meat at these fast food places...(as if soy were a BAD thing to find in a burger! lol). The hope it gives us seems to just be an unfortunate and unforseen side affect. :P
